Based on intellectual abilities and achievement, DMS students may be recommended by teachers, parents and other adults for consideration as a participant in the G/T program. Referrals for students in grades 6 and 7 are due to the Guidance Department by January 22.

Congratulations to these 16 DMS students who participated in the 2018 SC Region One Orchestra at Chesnee High!

Student Council collected 1,033 non-perishable items for the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen.

Our Youth-in-Government (YIG) club attended the South Carolina for YIG this past week.  YIG was an opportunity for students to simulate the SC democratic process, and students acted as senators and representatives.  They wrote, debated, and voted on legislation.

Schools are closed Nov. 21-23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you have a wonderful break!

The Bearcat Invitational basketball tournament will be held in the Dawkins gymnasium on November 19-20.

DMS will be celebrating the end of a successful season for our DMS fall athletes with spirit week!

Our school is participating in the Upstate Gap Analysis project, and we need for parents/employers to complete a short survey.

Basketball conditioning and tryouts will begin this month. 7th grade tryouts will be held 10/29 & 10/31. 8th grade tryouts will be on 10/30 and 11/1. All students will need to attend 11/2. Conditioning will be held on Mondays and Thursdays in October.
